dressed to the nines
任何重要的夜晚外出活動都以家里滿滿的衣柜，鏡子和一些想象開始！當(dāng)你dressed to the nines時意思是你正穿著非常時髦的服裝。例如，你可能說，"if we're going to the cocktail party we'd better get dressed to the nines!"

grab a bite to eat
你可能想要以飯店或咖啡點一頓快速的晚餐開始一晚的活動，我們把這就叫做grabbing a bite to eat。例如，你的朋友可能問你，"do you want to grab a bite to eat before we go out?"

go and catch a flick
夜晚的開始是去當(dāng)?shù)仉娪霸嚎床孔钚麓笃�的最佳時間。非正式的來說，我們說going to catch a flick當(dāng)我們要去看電影時。例如，你的朋友可能說，"let's go and catch a flick at the cinema tonight!"

paint the town red
到了現(xiàn)在這個地步，想來每個人應(yīng)該都應(yīng)該準(zhǔn)備好放松并享受一下了！這就是我們稱做的 painting the town red，和朋友一起享受美妙的晚上的活動！因此，當(dāng)朋友問你"do you want to go and paint the town red?"他們才不是讓你帶油漆和刷子呢！

go bar-hopping
作為你重大的夜晚活動可能會包括去好幾個酒吧放松的喝酒并和朋友見面。bar-hopping我們的意思是每個酒吧你去一會兒，并且然后hop，或是繼續(xù)去其他的，更多的酒吧。

shoot some pool
當(dāng)bar-hopping時你可能會看到一個桌球臺并想要快速的來上一兩盤。別擔(dān)心，這并不象聽起來這么危險－shooting some pool只是意味著打桌球！

dance the night away
在 hearing lots of music while bar-hopping時聽到了很多的音樂自然而然讓每個人都有跳舞的沖動！dancing the night away意思是連跳幾個小時的舞直到第二天的早上。因此第二天當(dāng)某人問你為什么這么累時，你就可以告訴他們， "because last night i danced the night away!"
